| ACTFA 4th Annual Specialty Best of Breed |
The purpose of the American Cesky Terrier Fanciers Association is to encourage
and promote quality in breeding of purebred Cesky Terriers in accordance with the ACTFA Cesky Terrier Standard and to support
the development of local Cesky Terrier Specialty clubs in those areas where there are sufficient fanciers of the breed. The
American Cesky Terrier Fanciers Association will do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed and
to encourage sportsman-like competition shows and judge breed seminars. The ACTFA will hold at least one yearly Specialty
weekend featuring a Cesky terrier conformation show, breed seminars and a yearly board and general membership meeting.
The ACTFA will promote the Cesky Terrier following
the guidelines of the American Kennel Club Foundation Stock Service for eventual recognition of the Cesky Terrier in the AKC
Terrier Group through its members' activities with their dogs.
The ACTFA will promote the qualities of the breed to its members and general public through communications, publications,
educational seminars, and positive thinking. The ACTFA will bring together Cesky lovers who share the common goal of raising,
training, breeding and competing, and are committed to stimulating interest and competitive public showings of the Cesky Terrier
and furthering the interests of the breed. Mailing Address: American Cesky Terrier Fanciers Association 5544 New Pine Lake Drive Fort Myers, FL 33907
A Short Club History
In October 2004 a group of active Cesky Terrier breeders, fanciers and
owners interested in working with their dogs in AKC events came together for the first time in Ocala, Florida. The ACTFA was
officially established and held its First National Specialty Weekend Event during the AKC Greater Ocala Dog Club weekend show.
Our mission was to further promote the interest of the Cesky Terrier and work towards full recognition of the Cesky in the
AKC Terrier Group. We had a plan. Our members moved
forward with the mission for full AKC recognition and in early 2007 the ACTFA was chosen by the AKC to be the Parent Breed
Club and represent the Cesky Terrier within the AKC.
The ACTFA made an official request to AKC to move the Cesky Terrier into the Miscellaneous Class.
In October
2007 the AKC Board of Directors approved the Cesky Terriers entry to the Miscellaneous Class, the next step towards
full AKC recognition. The effective date was July 1, 2008.
The ACTFA Officers, Board of Directors and its
membership are now working hard to move the Cesky Terrier into full AKC recognition.
