In 1927, Mrs. Geraldine Rockefeller Dodge (yep, of those Rockefellers!) held a dog show to raise money for a
local charity. For the next 30 years, M&E held sway as one of the biggest, richest and most spectacular dog shows in the
world. Silver trophies and an exhibitor luncheon separate from that available to the general public were the norm. By 1938,
it had grown to require a whopping 54 rings. Most large dog shows today top out at 25 rings, with 10 being the norm. The last M&E show was held in its original incarnation until 1957. In 2000 it was reinvented in a modern format. Notably,
it would be held only once every five years. AND
THE CESKY TERRIER WILL BE THERE IN 2010!! Let’s
show the dog show community that the Cesky Terrier is a breed to be reckoned with!
